Roman Egyptian Oil Lamp With HathorDescription
An Egyptian oil lamp from the Roman period (200 BC - 400 AD), probably from the Sinai. It has the face of Hathor, the Egyptian cow goddess of beauty, music, and dance. The face of Hathor always wears the false beard, a symbol of royalty, as a connection to the royal lineage of Egypt. Well made and well preserved. Bought from eBay about 2010. Plain base.Collections
