|Youth Leadership Bibb County was established as a “community awareness and leadership development program” in 1994. It had its origins in Project Link, a high school counterpart of Leadership Macon that began about 1989. YLBC was part of the Macon 2000 Partnership and its Task Force on Student Motivation chaired by H. Lee Perdue, who went on to lead YLBC. In 2004 YLBC partnered with the Mercer Center for Service-Learning and Community Development. The group ceased annual programming in 2007.
