Shelf 2: Coins, Gods, & Grave Goods - Egyptian VaseDescription
This small ancient Egyptian vase has a damaged cartouche (an oval surrounding the name of the pharaoh, which designates ownership by that pharaoh). The vessel’s shape is not in the ancient Egyptian tradition, so even though it was found at Memphis, its Greek style suggests that is from the Hellenistic (330 BC-) or Romans (30BC-500 AD) periods.
